Happier Times

Financial DistrictThe day before we flew to Amsterdam I met up with Susan, one of my shining friends from Oz.

We hunted out the Gherkin A.K.A. The Swiss Re Building, location of just about every high flying London business according to Hollywood. So far Johnothan Rhys Myers has worked there in Match Point and David Morrison had a swanky office there in Basic Instinct 2: Risk Addiction. Now Russell "Pass Me That Phone" Crowe is set to broker stock from gherkiny heights in Ridley Scott's latest Oscar-buzzer, The Good Year.

The structure is certainly evocative of a changing London and there is more to come. When I return to London, for 'tis the plan, it may be a different place.

The day was seriously hot but, as just another example of how the world can change in an instant, by the time I got off the tube sunny Acton was no longer sunny. It was good to see it finally rain in London.

Now where is my prize for Acton's Wet Shirt 2006.
