Rows in the Heath

Heathrow is a different beast today.

If the Brits like queues, they will LURVE Heathrow today. It is a queue fantasia. A rhapsody on the theme of queue.

I don't really think anyone is all that impressed though, seeing as they are all desperate to get in. Thanks to our business class tickets, we slipped in quite easily but it was jammed tight so we elected to go out again and enter a door closer to check-in.

And then the fire department elected to close the building.

Stuck on the outside, frustrated by the knowledge we should be inside, we were steadily shuffled back, and back until we were in the main carpark.

Nobody really knew what to do. Individually, the ground staff were Britishly trying to help out individual cases by circumventing the overarching plan. It was a bit of a mess, but with some careful ears we piggy-backed on someone else'e request and snuck back in.

Inside the police were armed to the teeth and travellers were wandering with their measly hand baggage gripped in plastic bags but everything else was business as usual.

Sitting in the lounge now typing to y'all.

I'd have taken some photos but we had to pack the cameras.

Typical.
