Know No Cure (for The Program)

STAGE :: Know No Cure

By Michael Scott

On a nondescript operating table in some nondescript O.R., in some nondescript location, Cyber lies, ready to receive a nondescript operation. The procedure that follows sends him on a whacked-out, tripped up journey into an unravelling subconscious so fraught with nonsensical happenings that even a cursory attempt at explanation would appear futile.

Adam's a bit upset with you! (Well, us then.) See Spark Online... you style-obsessed monster you!

Im sure hell manage.

Whether he manages or not I have little sympathy.

Putting aside for one moment that in Adam's response to a certain other review he talks about himself in the third person... an irritating habit (save in jest), Adam's complaints miss the point.

To object to comments on his work that focus on style over substance ignores the fact that his text was so turgid that its meaning was, for the most part, lost amongst its esoteric verbiage.

His style prevented any real engagement by the viewer in the substance of his work.

MQFF

The Melbourne Queer Film Festival always seeks to balance the crowd, pleasing “bums on seats” popcorners with some more challenging fare. But if you’re not feeling too adventurous, there are a few films to test the waters of the not-quite-so-shallow end.

I've started with Tan Lines / Far From Sunset Boulevard / Boy Culture over at The Program but there are more to come...

Tix are on sale now!

Registered Online AND In Print...

Hey y'all. Just a quick one to let you know that I am back in print. I went in to help take some of the pressure off Richard as he settles into his new digs as Editor of MCV.

I knocked up a few news stories, which appear in this week's issue.

One of them has also popped up online.

The City of Melbourne's Relationships Declaration Register, which will enable both mixed-sex and same-sex couples to formally declare their relationships, will be officially established by April 2, it was announced last week...

Dress Ups

Who's The (Hugo) Boss?
Thanks to my very good friend, I went to my interview today decked out in a suit worth more than I have in my bank account at the moment.

Dress ups are fun.

Interview went well. I'm going to be sent a brief on Monday morning for a trial project. Can't ask for much more than that.

All in all, I expect to spend the next week sweating like a bitch, worrying if my skills are up to the task.

Hopefully, after that I can afford to buy my own ridiculously expensive suits.

Hey, hey mike, congrats on the trial, but no wonder the interview went well, given you looked all smart in your little expensive suit. Also agree that dress-ups are lots of fun, should we have a party? And how come you're taking over responsibility for my pashing-and-dashing :)?

Looking forward to seeing you later,

xx

Okay, okay, I'll admit that, on reflection, my chicken-suit suggestion was inappropriate.

Looking good! That suit says: "Yes, of course I'll work for you, but we'll both know that you're MY bitch."

Good luck!

I was hoping you would still be wearing that suit when going out last night...but then it would have been a bit harder to show your chest in public. Thanks for a fun night and see I can take my own responsibility. He was almost as hot as you ;).

Sam, maybe we should take it down to hot, hot coffee guy and put it to the test.

I think there is a plan in there somewhere.

And Steff, good to see you taking responsibility for your evening pashes. I would like to point out though that the one we lined up for you, which you initially dismissed, you ended up locking lips with once or twice.

Till next time... tonight was it? x

Yeah, you're hot.

A good suit could make Carrot Top look inviting though.

But, still. You're hot.

I prefer the suit you bought in London, but I guess you had to look a bit more tied down for the interview.
